Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. She made her debut in the Bond movie, A View to a Kill in the year 1985. In 1989 she played Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan is in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody started modelling after she was approached. It turned out to be an extremely lucrative profession. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle that was carried into her acting. She was cast in a minor part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was spotted by the director of casting. Doody was named one of the 12 most promising new Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. At just 18 at the time she acted in the character Doody was and is the youngest Bond girl who has appeared in a film. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a film from the beginning where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her debut leading role. The episode aired in 1988 alongside John Hurt, Dawn French along with Jennifer Saunders. Her first appearance was in the movie Taffin alongside Pierce Brosnan. Next, she portrayed the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist, Nazi-sympathizer, and antagonist to Harrison Ford. Doody was in the film in the film with Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. Doody starred alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series that was inspired by Hitler Diaries. In Hollywood Doody moved to. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she was later chosen to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. After almost a decade away from the screen Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. In 2004, Doody was in the film in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. In 2010, Doody shot a part on Danny Dyer's feature film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama that aired on RTE. The Asphyx was her 2011 remake. Pam Jefferson is her role in the E4 Comedy Drama Beaver Falls' first of two seasons. In 2014 she starred in We Still Kill the Old Way.
